Travel in Madagascar is definitely possible on a very limited budget: taxi-brousse, hiking, local hotels, and backpacking, but primarily for the very young, or at least the very young at heart, or the very adventurous. At this time, we unfortunately are not able to offer assistance with hotel reservations or any local arrangements for this trip category, but please feel free to peruse our website as it will provide invaluable information on how to "do it yourself". A good guide book such as "Guide to Madagascar" by Hilary Bradt or the Lonely Planet will also be very helpful. If you reside in the United States or Canada, we will be glad to assist you with the lowest possible airfares to, from, and within Madagascar via Air Madagascar, as well as issue an entry visa upon request.
